ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Greenlight America is the leading grassroots campaign force powering the nation’s clean energy transition at the local level. Founded in 2023, we educate, empower, and mobilize volunteers to make their voices heard and win permitting approvals for clean energy projects in their communities. In the past two years we have advanced more than 15 gigawatts of clean power to the grid, more than seven times the size of the Hoover Dam.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Reporting Manager will drive Greenlight’s data reporting and analysis work, building visualizations and dashboards that track key metrics and inform decision-making across the organization. This person will also develop reporting on clean-tech industry trends, including data on large-scale projects and media coverage, to help identify opportunities and risks. The Reporting Manager will work closely with both the Data and Research teams to design and maintain reporting pipelines, while also having the chance to collaborate and do ad hoc analysis for teams across Greenlight (including Campaigns, Partnerships, and Development). A successful candidate will be someone who likes working collaboratively and iteratively, is willing to take risks and is able to build out reporting without detailed guidance. This position is remote and reports to the Director of Data & Analytics.
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build data visualizations that track and measure organization-wide KPIs and provide actionable insights to drive decision-making across the organization.

Produce reporting that tracks trends across the clean-tech industry, including utility scale clean-tech projects in the interconnection queue and mentions of those projects across different media sources, which will help the organization stay abreast of new opportunities and threats.

Design and build sustainable reporting infrastructure and pipelines from the ground up, ensuring tools and processes are well documented and scalable as analytical priorities evolve.

Query existing data warehouse and create reporting tables in BigQuery SQL that roll up data from across the organization and from external media and energy industry sources, while leveraging dbt best practices.

Collaborate with other members of the data team to track data freshness and efficacy of data linkage efforts. Collaborate with members of the Research Team to look for insights and trends across regions and clean-tech project types (e.g. solar, energy storage and wind).

Develop standards for reporting and data visualization across the organization.

Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis to answer questions that support the work of our Development, Partnerships, Industry, Communications, and Campaigns Team.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
We are especially interested in candidates with the following qualifications:

3+ years of experience required manipulating, analyzing and reporting on a wide variety of data sets. Preference given to candidates with experience in issue advocacy or political campaigns.

Experience with data visualization, specifically transforming complex data sets into simple, clean visuals and dashboards (in any data visualization tool).

Experience in translating quantitative data into written strategic insights. The ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences and end users.

Strong working knowledge of SQL, Git, dbt and the ability to learn and apply new data tools and techniques efficiently.

Experience working collaboratively with non-technical stakeholders.

Experience developing lightweight, maintainable data pipelines to automate reporting flows.

Has an orientation toward rapid prototyping and iteration.

Ability to think creatively, take risks, and objectively evaluate results.

Passion for accelerating the clean energy transition.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base annual salary for this position is $75,000 - $100,000. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes 100% employer paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, monthly technology stipend, and retirement contributions through 401k and Roth plans.
Placement within the stated salary range will be determined based on the candidate’s years of relevant professional experience.
