ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Greenlight America is a new organization that mobilizes grassroots power to win local siting and permitting campaigns for clean energy projects. We do this by partnering with local groups and activists to run strategic campaigns that win approval for clean energy projects in their communities. Our founding team has led some of the largest grassroots organizing networks in the country, and we are building a scalable model for engaging and mobilizing local residents in support of clean energy.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Operations Director in ensuring the smooth operation of Greenlight America. This includes managing daily operations, systems management and optimization and ensuring the organization's foundations are strong and adaptable. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, a creative and risk-taking mindset, and a focus on scaling during a period of growth.
A successful candidate for this position will have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to think strategically, and a hands-on approach to managing day-to-day operations. They will be adept at juggling multiple priorities and will possess a strong sense of initiative. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a nonprofit setting, a deep commitment to the mission of accelerating the clean energy transition, and a track record of successfully supporting organizational growth and development. They should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
The position is remote and reports to the Senior Operations Director.
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations

Manage the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring efficient systems and processes are in place.

Enhance operational systems and administrative support services through improvements to each function and coordination between functions.

Manage the contract request and regrant process by coordinating with staff, partners, vendors, and consultants, ensuring timely follow-up and submitting draft agreements for review and approval.

Monitor and manage the progress and status of invoices and bills to ensure timely processing and payment.

Prepare and distribute board meeting materials; take minutes at Board meetings.

Manage the logistics for staff retreats and staff events.

Support in the preparation and submission of required regulatory filings.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Human Resources

Serve as a point of contact on HR related matters, including recruitment, new hire setup, new hire orientation, benefits, payroll, and on-boarding.

Manage HRIS system(s).

Manage and maintain personnel records of employees ensuring all necessary documentation is kept up to date.

Maintain knowledge of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory updates in human resources to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Information Technology

Provide IT support for the organization, troubleshooting basic issues in Google Workspace and other platforms.

Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
We are especially interested in candidates with the following qualifications:

3+ years experience of relevant professional experience in operations management.

1+ year experience in human resources.

Experience in improving operational systems and managing organizational growth.

Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Passion for accelerating the clean energy transition

Preferred: experience working in support of clean energy
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base annual salary for this position is $75,000-$100,000. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes 100% employer paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, monthly technology stipend, and retirement contributions through 401k and Roth plans.
