ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Greenlight America is the leading grassroots campaign force powering the nation’s clean energy transition at the local level. Founded in 2023, we educate, empower, and mobilize volunteers to make their voices heard and win permitting approvals for clean energy projects in their communities. In the past two years we have advanced more than 15 gigawatts of clean power to the grid, more than seven times the size of the Hoover Dam.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Communications and Digital Managers play a central role in Greenlight’s communications and campaign work, with an important voice in shaping the strategic direction of Greenlight’s communications, messaging, and content production strategy on the campaigns to which they are assigned. Successful candidates for these positions will be skilled writers with the demonstrated capacity to produce quality work on deadline. They will also be adept communications strategists, with the ability to not just support but help drive bespoke advocacy campaigns. They will have the ability to get up to speed quickly on complex topics, exhibit strong skills in project management, and be highly creative about messaging and tactics and willing to take risks. These positions are remote and report to the Chief Communications Officer.

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Set and execute campaign comms strategy on assigned campaigns, working hand-in-hand with the regional campaign managers, organizers, and consultants in the region (either in the East or the Northwest).

Supported by the Greenlight Communications Team, produce all campaign communications content for assigned clean energy siting campaigns, including but not limited to: social listening, talking points, fact sheets, letters to the editors, op-eds, digital content, social media posts, one-pagers, and presentations.

Support the overall work of Greenlight America on a case-by-case basis, including branding, design, social media, and organizational messaging.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
We are especially interested in candidates with the following qualifications:

3+ years of experience developing content and/or messaging on deadline. Strong candidates for this role may also have backgrounds in community organizing, campaigning, clean energy development, or similar.

Strategic communications experience, particularly on local advocacy campaigns.

Strong research and written communications skills.

Passion for accelerating the clean energy transition.

For the Northwest position, candidates in the Pacific Time Zone or willing to work those hours preferred. For the East position, candidates in the Eastern Time Zone or willing to work those hours preferred.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base annual salary for this position is $75,000-$100,000. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes 100% employer paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, monthly technology stipend, and retirement contributions through 401k and Roth plans.
Placement within the stated salary range will be determined based on the candidate’s years of relevant professional experience.
